We have been waiting patiently for the wonder of winter to arrive! Winter weather means cozy clothing, sweet treats, snowy studies, and plenty of messy fun. This is what preschool dreams are made of! Luckily we chronicled our whole month to look back on so you can experience our winter wonderland too!
We can’t think of winter without it’s finest, fluffiest, and frozen component. Snow! Snow provides endless sensory activities as well as inspiring art projects. Our snowman art was snow-joke. We used a plethora of different mediums such as shaving cream, marble process art, and even marshmallows! Preschool has never been so cool!
We included STEM based building in this unit as well as fake snow investigations using a mixture of ingredients. We loved the way our snow dough came out and will be recreating this recipe in the future!
A highlight of our month came in the form of pajamas. That’s right, we dressed the part to make our own preschool pajama party! We brought a cuddly friend from home to share the preschool experience and a cup of hot cocoa. What a memorable and warm way to kick off our winter month!
We spent time learning about what the holidays really mean and the traditions behind this joyous time of year. Our Chanukah and Christmas units opened our eyes to new vocabulary, exciting songs, and of course preschool role play! From menorah making to Rudolph prancing, we loved every minute!
Our Winter Wonderland wouldn't be complete without a Winter Village replica! Our magical ice skating rink and hot chocolate pop-up warmed our hearts right away! The ladybugs rose to the occasion when it came to running the ticket booth, refreshment stand, and of course ice skating the day away. Watch out Bryant Park, you have some big competition.
We concluded our month with a winter celebration complete with song, dance, and our loved ones! We couldn’t wait to spread cheer and feel the warm reward of giving meaningful gifts. We made celebratory gingerbread houses and indulged in some holiday themed goodies. Thank you for sharing this with us!
We hope you have a wonderful holiday and break with your loved ones. Thank you for the most special gift of all, the opportunity to teach your amazing child. Happy New Year, we will see you back next month!
