I am delighted to announce we have just concluded our first month of preschool! The ladybugs and I had an awesome time jumping, hopping, and skipping right in with our theme of Community. This is a special theme that really focuses in on your preschooler and all the communities that they belong to, including the new school environment. The purpose behind this topic is to recognize and assert connections with others by looking within ourselves, family community, and the outside world community. We want your preschooler to know they belong and are a very valued member of all these groups! We established our sense of self through emotion and puppet play as well as discussed our biggest support system, family. We enforced preschool code of conduct with a student-made proclamation and theatrical participation during circle time. We also looked to our bigger- picture surroundings to discuss the grand scheme community we belong to here in Brooklyn along with all the helpers who make it so extraordinary. All in all, it was a fantastic month!
Here are some super special specialists that will be supporting and enriching our learning journey this year. Each one brings an individualized and exceptional early childhood schooling approach that stimulates our mind, body, and overall happiness. We are some lucky ladybugs!
Other conceptual themes we tackled were the color red, circle shape, and letters F and C. Artwork, sensory exploration, and games all played a big part in our understanding!
Next month we will embrace the lovely spirit of Fall. Apples, leaves, pumpkins, and of course Halloween are on the agenda. Stay tuned for a spooktacular October post!
All the best,
