What A Great Week!
Our tents are pitched and our backpacks are packed. After a week of preparation and safety lessons, we embarked on another portion of our camping trip!
Farmer Corey helped us plant for a sustainable food collection while out in the wild. Tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots all sound good to us! We even made labels for the garden so that way we can come back and revisit the exact spot we planted in. We are now true hunter/gatherers with our own garden on site!
Row, row, row, your canoe! We glided throughout the room in our communal canoe with no signs of tipping. Not bad for a first lesson!
We paddled on over to the alphabet pond which was a sensory lover's dream! Pebbles, shells, gravel, and plants floated about while we fished out well known letters. We ended our play with a splash as the current took over!
You may have heard that down by the bay is where the watermelons grow. We took a trip to find out for ourselves with another lovely visit from a guest parent! We read a super silly book about a water dwelling croc who may have bitten off more than he could chew. We are now very aware of those pesky seeds in our watermelon slices!
We spent some time discussing the symbol of our nation for Flag Day. I was so impressed when a ladybug told me that the 50 stars represent the 50 states in America! We tried our best to recreate this emblem but with a few less stars. I love the way they came out!
We had an incredible end of the year celebration. Singing, laughter, and acknowledging grand accomplishments is a great way to sum up our year. I couldn't be prouder of all of the ladybugs for showcasing their talents and accepting their diplomas in front of all of our loved ones. The year has gone by too fast, but luckily it's not over just yet!
See you all next week for our FINAL WEEK of preschool!
So much love,
