WOW! We have reached the second to last month of school! We are overcome with so many different emotions, so we decided to enter the month doing what we do best- celebrating! We held a Cinco de Mayo themed fiesta at the end of the week which culminated our mini Mexican unit. Take a look at our taco-takeover!
Our dramatic play center encompassed a full menu of Mexican fare. We lead roles such as cashier, server, chef, host, and customer! As always, I provide the props, the ladybugs provide the fun!
Speaking of fresh ingredients, Farmer Corey came mighty prepared for a lesson on the parts of a plant. We were put to the test as he coached us on identifying which food corresponded to which part of the plant. We aced it! As a reward for our amazing achievement, we feasted!
Of course a visit from Farmer Corey isn't complete without some planting! Here we are spilling the beans...into their new homes!
Our other craftivites from the week spanned from festive fives to authentic clay pottery. There's no limit to our talents!
You may hear your preschooler chanting a well known tune with some not-so well known Spanish lyrics. We just finished celebrating our first fiesta to commemorate Cinco de Mayo! We didn't get too much into the history as much as we did the food and culture, but the ladybugs were equally as excited to partake. We sang, danced, crafted, and cooked! I let the ladybugs in on my super special guacamole recipe and they were involved every chop of the way. As much as we love our veggies, not many friends were too keen on this celebratory snack. Good thing this holiday comes every year; many more shots to try delicious guac!
Have an amazing weekend and a very happy Cinco de Mayo!
